INTERLOCKING WOODEN SLATS
VIBRATING TABLE
The Vibra table is the most successful example of this concept, combining functionality, beauty, and fun. Made with interwoven wooden slats, it moves when manipulated (and adapts to various environments, even columns, by changing shape as its sharp edges lose their sharpness).
It's fun for both adults and children (who love it, of course).
RECYCLED MATERIALS
CORRUPIUM LAMP
Regarding the choice of raw materials, the Corrupio Lamp process contributes to:
- Reduce the volume of waste in landfills;
- Use as raw material polymers discarded in homes and industries, from packaging, disposable products and other products;
- To maintain the value of this material (which has endured for centuries), since it can be disassembled and separated for reuse/recycling as pure raw material, as well as other parts of the object. This is important because many processes for reusing discarded materials create mixtures that are very difficult to reuse/recycle later, generating what we call "undercycling."
ARMCHAIR
SUCURI CHAIR
The SUCURI armchair is inspired by Brazilian nature, in particular by the SUCURI snake, a large animal that haunts the national collective imagination with mythical and real stories.
Known for capturing its prey in an "embrace" or, as they say in northeastern Brazil, in a strong hug, its extreme mobility serves as inspiration and is represented in the design through a robust braided carnauba straw.
By organically intertwining with the rectilinear structure of the armchair, the braid fulfills an aesthetic and functional role, acting as an armrest and backrest, opening up to interaction with the user.
With elongated, intertwined ends, the wooden frame features structural bases inspired by traditional Northeastern furniture, sophisticated brushed brass finishes, and a comfortable seat. All pieces are detachable for easy production and transport.
TEXTILE SCULPTURE
MULTICOLORED MOLE
MOLE MULTICOR, made of polyester ribbon, is an expression of diversity and Brazilian identity in a malleable, tactile, interactive, and corporeal textile sculpture. Handcrafted using a robust braiding technique of my own design, it can be used in any size and formal arrangement in diverse environments.
TRIBO LAMP
The Tribo lamp by Érico Gondim was born from the roots of Ceará and from hands that carry history.
These women learned from their ancestors how to handweave carnauba palm straw. An indigenous knowledge passed down from generation to generation.
These women draw nourishment from the carnauba palm, and with it they build beauty and resilience.
The project values the shape of the female body and the lines of indigenous geometries.
A tribute to local knowledge, now on new scales and with new perspectives, without losing the essence and purpose that gave rise to it.
